The Lah Lah's launch The Stripy Sock Club Live Show
ARIA-nominated Best Children’s Act and Sony Music-signed family favourite Lah-Lah’s Big Live Band are thrilled to announce their new national live tour The Stripy Sock Club Live Show, ahead of their highly-anticipated new TV show.
Production on the TV show, featuring the loveable gang from Lah-Lah’s Big Live Band, has already commenced and now the bunch are pulling up their stripy socks and hitting the road to meet and play for thousands of fans across the country.
“We’re all so excited about this year’s tour,” says Tina Harris, lead singer and co-creator of Lah-Lah. “The Stripy Sock Club Live Show has been created around the new TV series and features new songs and dances, which Aussie kids will be able to see on TV later this year.”
Last year, Lah-Lah successfully raised over $100,000 in a crowdfunding campaign to go towards the Stripy Sock Club TV series.
“The support we received from families around the country has been incredible,” says the mum of two. “For the first time ever, parents joined with us to have a voice about the kind of show they want us to make for their children. It just shows that families around the country are craving locally produced quality children’s content on their screens.”
The issue of producing Australian content for Australian kids has been an ongoing one and was raised at the last Screen Producers Australia Conference which prompted Tina and her husband Mark, both passionate advocates for quality children’s music education, to create another TV season of Lah-Lah with the help of crowdfunding.
“The Stripy Sock Club Live Show is a mixture between the old Mickey Mouse Club and The Monkees,” explains Mark, a professional musician who plays Buzz the Bandleader in the show. “It’s a live show tour with real musicians that absolutely everyone can enjoy and be a part of, with no backing tracks or big stadiums.
“We really believe it’s important for children to have an up-close experience at our live shows, with room for families to dance plus a storyline that’s guaranteed to engage all.
“After every show, all the musicians come out into the audience so the children can touch and play the instruments. This is the magic of Lah-Lah.”
