Local Mum Kirsten King
Where and how long have you lived in Sydney's east: Four years.
How many children: Three girls - Charlie Bear, Willow Eve and Harper Grace.
Favourite Park: My girls love the Flying Fox park in Coogee (cnr of Carrington Road and Dolphin Street). We also love the Environmental Park in Randwick for Bike Riding.
Favourite Beach: Coogee! We are in walking distance up at South Coogee and we love to encourage the girls to be active and healthy, so to get them to enjoy walking is something that is important to me. The walk on the way home is all top hill but Harper has being doing it since she was two. It is so nice to be able to take a walk and chat with the girls. It's almost like a little catch up and moment to slow down all in one.
Favourite kid friendly cafe: The Little Kitchen or Clodelli. The Little Kitchen is at the bottom of our hill, the food is amazing and it is such a lovely local community. We can all walk down and have breakfast and then go for a walk along the beach after. We love Clodelli as there is always loads of space for the girls and you never feel like you are inconveniencing them because you have children.
Favourite Coffee Spot: A Man and His Monkey on Clovelly Road. I love their Oat Milk Chai Latte and Hummus Plate. It is right next to the Clovelly studio and the guys are so friendly there. We love Clodelli as there is always loads of space for the girls and you never feel like you are inconveniencing them because you have children.
Favourite date night place: Sugarcane in Coogee.
Favourite Local Day Out Activity: A walk to the beach and a bowl of chips at the Coogee Pavilion on the way home.
Favourite Local Shop: LivedInCoogee
Favourite wet weather location: The girls are old enough to enjoy the movies so we tend to hear to The Ritz in Randwick.
Describe an ideal day in Sydney’s eastern suburbs for you? Breakfast at one of our favourite cafes, followed by a swim and play at the beach and then a late lunch / lazy afternoon at home.
Work or SAHM: Owner of Fluidform Pilates and Fluidform at Home. I teach most days and fit running the businesses in between classes.
Motherly advice: Socialise with your children as much as possible. It is so much more enjoyable to share life with them rather than leave them at home with a babysitter. I am also a stickler for manners and respecting your elders. This was such a big part of my upbringing and I feel like it is getting lost in younger generations.
