DINOSAURS MAKE BOREDOM EXTINCT AT TARONGA ZOO SYDNEY

Make boredom extinct this summer at Taronga Zoo Sydney’s Rise of the Tarongasaurs, featuring 10 incredible, life-sized animatronic dinosaurs, including a fearsome and iconic Tyrannosaurus Rex, a vicious Raptor, and a spitting Dilophosaurus.

Families and big kids can follow the Dino Trail and be amazed by the huge moving, roaring and even spitting dinosaurs encountered, while learning about the dinosaurs that still walk among us.

Kids in particular will enjoy the twice-daily Dinosaur Keeper talks, a cool Fossil Dig activity and getting a selfie on the climbable Pachyrhinosaurus dinosaur.

Dinosaurs are included for free with Taronga Zoo Sydney entry, but the dinosaurs can be seen only until 3 February 2019, when they once again become extinct.

Dino Keeper Gillian said that the wonder of dinosaurs captivates guests and keepers alike.

“I began working at Taronga Zoo Sydney eight years ago as a volunteer Dinosaur Keeper, and that fascination inspired me to work permanently at Taronga Zoo Sydney with the Guest Experience Team,” said Dino Keeper Gillian.

“These amazing animals became extinct 65 million years ago through a natural disaster, however there are so many fantastic animals that walk amongst us that are at risk of a demise that we can prevent,” she said.

“At Rise of the Tarongasaurs, guests will learn about the prehistoric ancestors of cassowaries and fishing cats, however they may also be surprised to learn about the relationship between dinosaurs and iconic Australian marsupials such as kangaroos and wombats,” she said.

“In addition to learning about conservation of these amazing living dinosaurs, kids can enjoy being a palaeontologist at our Fossil Dig by uncovering the mysteries of the earth’s prehistoric past,” she said.
